Urgent Care
As you might expect, pets usually don’t get sick and injured according to schedule. That’s why, in an effort to always be there for your pets, our veterinarians at Bramalea Animal Hospital provide urgent care and walk-in appointments.
When you bring your pet to us for urgent care, we’ll prioritize their care to first ensure that their condition is stable. We then examine your pet, run any necessary diagnostic test, provide you with a diagnosis, and recommend a variety of treatment options.

Signs Your Pet Needs Urgent Care
If your pet has any of the following, they need emergency care right away:
- Foreign object ingestion
- Heat exhaustion (hyperthermia) or frostbite (hypothermia)
- Injury or trauma
- Lack of bowel movements
- Persistent vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Seizures, fainting, or collapse
- Toxic ingestion
- Trouble breathing
- Uncontrolled bleeding

If your pet displays any of the following signs or symptoms, we recommend seeking veterinary care as soon as possible:
- Appetite loss
- Coughing or sneezing
- Drinking more or less water
- Excessive panting or purring
- Eye, nose, or ear problems (swelling or discharge)
- Fever
- Facial swelling
- Lethargy
If you aren’t sure whether or not your pet needs to see a veterinarian right away, we always welcome you to call our office for advice. However, we usually recommend erring on the side of caution and bringing your pet in if you suspect they need veterinary attention.
Same-Day Results and Treatment With In-House Diagnostics
We have a laboratory and digital radiology suite available in our animal hospital. This allows us to test and diagnose patients quickly in order to administer safe and effective treatments as soon as possible.
